Daves dry burning on coil for foggatty
Hiya guys,
When Dave did the dry burn on the coil wire for the foggatti to build up oxidation on coil wire. Could that be done with VG or PG to add to the oxidation? I would think that would work better? Comments?

Re: Daves dry burning on coil for foggatty
it could help yes, but remember if you add pg or vg it will take longer for the coil to glow red as it will need to "burn off" the liquid first

The thing is, Kanthal creates its own non-conductive layer by the action of heat - it's not something that needs a catalyst - indeed, once it's done, you can wind a coil with touching turns and it will maintain its resistance. But you have to look for that discolouration - that's the key... not sure that adding juice would help - or hinder. Only one way to find out!!!
